Baptism in the church is serious business. It implies commitment to Christ, and a commitment to the life, ministry, and worship of a particular congregation. Classes meet 3 times prior to baptism on a Saturday from 9-11 a.m. and are required for older candidates. Parents of younger candidates must take classes on their behalf. Please give us as much information as possible on the form below. Planned dates for baptisms and classes in 2007 are:

Baptism - Sunday, April 8, 2007    (Easter Sunday)

Classes meet on Saturday, March 17, 31, and April 7

Baptism - Sunday, September 30, 2007

Classes meet on Saturday, September 15, 22, and 29

Baptism - Sunday, December 9, 2007 (Second Sunday in Advent)

Classes meet on Saturday, November 17, December 1, and 8

Baptism Declaration for older children and adult candidates for baptism.

1. I promise to the best of my ability to follow Jesus Christ, and to be faithful member of His body, the church.

2. I promise to faithfully and regularly attend public worship in this congregation, and should I move, I commit myself to joining and attending another church family.

3. I will regularly come to the Lord's Supper, Holy Communion, and (if appropriate) seek the sacrament of Confirmation.

 

Baptism Declaration for Sponsors of infants and younger children.

1. I promise to follow Jesus Christ, and to be a faithful member of his body, the church, and to teach this to the child I present for baptism.

2. I promise to faithfully and regularly attend public worship in this congregation, and to bring the child I present to the same, and should I move, I commit myself to joining and attending another church family.

3. I will encourage my child to come regularly to the Lord's Supper, Holy Communion, and encourage my child to seek the sacrament of Confirmation at the appropriate time.
