Confirmation
Class Schedule & Syllabus (This will also be the Baptism Class for Fall
2007)
Confirmation Classes start October 7, 2007 and end on
December 2, 2007. There will be 5 sessions.
All classes will meet at Paul & Anne Frey’s
home from 5:30 to 7:30 on Sunday evenings. 139

We will have a light meal while we work on the confirmation
material. Confirmation will take place on Sunday, December 9th, 2007 when
Bishop David Reed comes to visit.
You must come to all the classes or schedule a make up class to get confirmed or
received.
Classes & topics
October 7– Baptism–What is it? For this class please read "Infant Baptism" and then print
and do as much as possible of the baptism
worksheets. Please try to print
and do the worksheets before the class. Bring your work to the class.
October 21 – Commitment to Christ –
Who is
Jesus? We will be watching part of the Alpha Course video and then discussion
who Jesus is. Read some of the links above before the class.
November 4 – Part of the
Church – What
are my vocation and ministry? How do you know what God wants you to do with your
life and work? Read the article on vocation
before the class.
November 18 – Worship and Sacraments – Loving
God and being loved back. What is the point of worship? Why do we take
communion? What does God do in and for us at those times? How do we know? Read
the pages on worship,
communion,
and Anglican
communion before class.
December 2 -
Church history in a nutshell – A place in history. How did the Church grow
from Jesus disciples? Why did the Church split? What can we learn from the past?
How can we serve God in the present? Read the Church History Summaries below
