Hi, and welcome to Christ Church. We are a church with two diverse congregations, one primarily English speaking, and another primarily Spanish speaking. We at Christ Church believe our mission is to develop God's people into a community committed to Jesus Christ, committed to one another, committed to Laredo, and committed to the world God made. This means we seek to reach out to people with the Gospel, the good news of a God who offers real new life and forgiveness, the opportunity for a fresh start through his Son Jesus Christ. We believe that the Bible, sacramental worship, and christian community are the primary means we have for God to communicate with us, to shape us for the purposes we were created. Practically this means that we put a premium on Children's ministries, believing that kids want to know about the Bible and about God. We seek to do that training in age appropriate, Bible centered, fun ways. It means we worship together, believing that we experience God's presence in Word, Sacrament, and Community. It means we eat together on a regular monthly basis, believing that sharing a common meal is one way of showing God's love and provision to us and to others. We believe that showing tangible care for our neighbors is one way of showing people that Jesus cares about them and another way that we too encounter God. We do this as a community through our Thursday food distribution, through helping furnish and build Habitat for Humanities homes, through supporting the ministry of AA (Alcoholics Anonymous). We do this as families and individuals through our lives in our homes and our various vocations. Finally, we seek to show our care and love to one another, believing that our care for each other is also a sign of God's love in a broken world. We do this even when we disagree with one another, because we believe that every person is made in the image of God, and is loved by God. Paul Frey <><
