Stewardship is a Christian understanding that God created everything in the universe and it all belongs to God. It means that we are to care for everything God made, including but not limited to: each other, our families, our schools, businesses, churches, plants, animals, rivers, air, and anything else we can think of.  

At the same time, churches have practical considerations of maintaining buildings and staff to provide the resources for worship, fellowship, caring, and all the other parts of congregational life.
